The 2019 Wingsuit Flying World Cup (Jinggu Station) held its second round of competition on Saturday in Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County of southwest Chinas Yunnan Province, with top flyers from across the world putting on jaw-dropping stunts in their bid for the extreme sports world title.
A total of 14 athletes from 10 countries, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia, jumped one after another from sky, 2,000 meters above sea level. They dived down at high speed, before flying through two hot air balloons of 200 meters above ground and posturing for the final rush toward the target. The winner will be the one closest to the target.
The three-day competition at Jinggu Station will crown the winner, runner-up, and second runner-up according to their total scores.
Besides daredevil wingsuit flyers, over 20 pupils from a special education school in Jinggu also enjoyed themselves at the competition scene by riding in hot air balloons.
The special education school enrolls 227 children who suffer from autism, the Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, congenital deaf-mutism, and other illnesses. Due to the remote location of Jinggu and their illnesses, the children have not done many outdoor activities and never seen hot air balloons before. As the balloon flew toward the sky, the rapturous crowd couldnt help waving their hands and cheering.
